Biometric is a term for the computer-controlled systems used to identify users' physical and behavioral properties and use them to verify their identification. The reason why they are preferred is because they are safer than pin numbers, passwords and cards. We can list the benefits of biometric as:

The user's presence is necessary at the place,
Cards or similar identification tools are unnecessary,
Memorizing passwords is unnecessary

With the extensive use of computers and the Internet as information technology tools, the need to restrict access to personal and organizational classified information has also become apparent. Most of the commonly used security systems give access to the information, password or other tools that the users can give, instead of restricting access to specific users. On the other hand, biometric systems gives access to the specific person. That is why they are unfailing elements of high security.

It is possible to limit the areas that the biometric systems can be used:

Access to the maternity units in hospitals,
Checking attendance of students at schools,
Electronic payment and loyalty systems,
Access to high security areas,
Employee loyalty systems,
User identification at the ATMs,
Identification at call services,
Check-in and boarding in airports,
Identification at the borders and frontiers,
Identification for electronic banking,
SSO, personal pc and network access,
Rental case access,
Identification at the sales' terminals (POS),
Paycheck verifications,
Tickets,
National identifications; I.D., passport, driving license,
Customers following for insurance and medical organizations,
National services like the social insurance, taxes,
Access security in buildings,
Electronic ticket sales,

Biometric systems are meant to be as practical as they are trustworthy, so the methods in identification are important. Among all the various biometric identifying systems there are only a few that the users can use easily.

Ergosis R&D engineers test each new biometric system, and add the ones that have reached the quality level expected from our customers to its portfolio. As of now, there are three such systems: Iris, Fingerprint ve Face recognition.
